In late 2008 and early 2009, Mike Clancy (one of our regular contribuors) travelled around Asia and the Middle East, investigating the conditions of migrant workers – not those with their Harvard degrees who were able to take their skills to the highest bidder – but rather those at the other end of the pyramid; workers unable to find gainful employment in their own country who would go anywhere and take any job just to feed their families. Mike conducted some 30 interviews and these are now being compiled into a book “Stories from the Gate’.

The draft book was completed in 2009 but has lain dormant for several years. I am now updating the chapters and will publish here. This is not a commercial project. It is a story (or collection of stories) that needs t be told.
