Module 7 Common errors in grammar, punctuation and spelling
Overview
This module provides a primer on grammar and composition. We look at the common errors many people make when writing and help you to avoid the pitfalls.
These pitfalls include sentence structure, identifying the parts and components components of a sentence. and the differences between American, Australian and British English. Discussion then moves to punctuation and common mistakes in written English including commonly confused words.
This module will be invaluable to those seeking to improve and develop their writing skills or those seeking a refresher course in writing.
Designed originally as a refresher course for non-native English speakers who are required to write in English, this module can be the basis of a half-day workshop. There is a number of supporting exercises developed for course participants as well as classroom presentation material that is available online from the members section of our training website (http://workingwithwords.com.au/members-lounge/).
